Located in the heart of the Esztergom market, Piac42 is the latest venture from the Michelin-starred 42 Restaurant team. The aim of the bistro is to offer simple, tasty and understandable food, drawing on the experience of top gastronomy. They are committed to supporting local producers and work closely with the vendors of the Esztergom market to ensure that their dishes are always made with fresh and seasonal ingredients.
“The project itself was made possible thanks to chef Ádám Barna, who had previously commissioned us to renovate the bar counter of Restaurant 42,” says Gábor Petrusán, sales manager at Coninvest, about the project. “Everyone was happy with our project and then they mentioned that they were thinking of opening a bistro in connection with the renovation of the market.”
“The kitchen area is very small, we tried to make the most of it. We had to bring in special equipment so that even in the small space they could prepare the dishes that we are used to and expect from 42. The kitchen was equipped with induction hobs, combi ovens, and a shock appliance. Every little space was used to make everything possible in the tiny space.
We also supplied the bar appliances. We created a bar counter that is multifunctional: in the winter it works inwards towards the restaurant, and in the summer it can serve drinks through an open window onto the terrace.”
The interior of the bistro can seat 25 people, while the outdoor terrace with three seasons can accommodate 30 to 40 guests. Coninvest’s experts supplied the furniture for the interior and exterior, with Pedrali and Fameg furniture for the interior and Pedrali furniture and parasols for the exterior.
“The client had specific ideas about the style and atmosphere of the bistro, and after getting to know them, we selected and recommended furniture for them,” says Gabriella Tóth Bakos, head of Coninvest’s furniture division. “We wanted to make the best use of the tiny space, so we added two custom-made corner bench systems to the guest area, which utilized many clever solutions.”
