The Three Corners Avenue Hotel was furnished by Coninvest
Coninvest is always delighted when we are approached with exciting and complex projects where we not only supply furniture, but also play an active role in implementing a strong interior design concept. The furnishing of the Three Corners Avenue Hotel was just such a project: a historic palace setting, contemporary expectations and uncompromising quality in a single unit.
Located on Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the task was clear: to create a hotel that evokes the historical face of Budapest not as a backdrop, but as a genuine experience. Interior designer Csilla Kelemen’s concept was based on the idea that guests who come here are not just looking for accommodation, but also the historic, cultural city life that makes them choose this location.
A historic atmosphere with modern expectations
The building was originally built in this style, and two floors were later added to provide the necessary number of rooms. The interior design task was not only aesthetic but also a serious technical challenge: thick, load-bearing walls, a fixed structure, yet 64 rooms, a well-functioning corridor system, and the creation of communal spaces.
The goal was not to copy the past, but to reinterpret it in a contemporary way: historicizing stylistic elements, natural, high-quality materials, modern comfort, and 4-star standards. As Csilla puts it, “We didn’t want to create a museum, but a hotel where guests can experience the spirit of the place with modern comforts.”
Conscious decisions for the guest experience
During the project, several guest-centered decisions were made that went against current trends. One example was the issue of open bathrooms: although this is a fashionable solution, privacy and comfort ultimately prevailed here. The choice was made to have open bathrooms, but covered by a slatted wall. Based on guest feedback, this was the right decision. The same thoughtful approach was applied to the use of colors and materials: playful, contemporary elements were added to the historicist foundations, creating a delicate balance between the past and the present.
Why was Coninvest so important?
Coninvest participated in the implementation of the concept not merely as a supplier, but as a true professional partner. Csilla Kelemen puts it this way: “Coninvest was absolutely capable of helping us bring this era, this style, to life with today’s materials.”
The project allowed for no compromise:
- only premium category fabrics could be considered,
- with high Martindale values,
- outstanding wear resistance,
- and easy cleanability
- all while fitting aesthetically into the historic world.
It was also important that the furniture designed in the visual plans delivered the same quality in reality. And if a unique requirement arose, there was a solution for that too: “If I had any specific questions, we were able to resolve them – whether it was about small pieces of furniture or completely unique manufacturing.”
Multiple functions, one space – real life in the building
The Mabelle Café on the ground floor of the building has been given a special role: it functions as a breakfast room, lobby, and premium beer bar in the evening. This required furniture that is comfortable during the day, distinctive in the evening, and visually appealing. The furniture supplied by Coninvest appears here as sculptural elements, while flexibly serving different uses. What’s more, it also provides space for temporary exhibitions and events.
What we can be proud of
The interior renovation of the Three Corners Avenue Hotel is the result of a complex, carefully executed process that combined architectural features, guest expectations, and quality workmanship. This is a project where the historical environment was not a constraint but an inspiration, where Coninvest’s professional flexibility and quality added tangible value, and where the end result is not only beautiful but also livable, functional, and lovable.
