The Hotel Essence in Pogány captivates at first glance: elegant interiors, breathtaking surroundings, and a restaurant whose culinary advisor is Balázs Csapody, owner of Kistücsök restaurant and one of the most recognizable faces in Hungarian gastronomy and tourism. All this can be found in the immediate vicinity of the Pécs-Villány wine region. Here, Italian elegance and sophistication meet, which is no surprise, as the spaces were designed by the world-famous interior designers and furniture designers of Natuzzi. The hotel’s philosophy is timeless elegance, which is reflected not only in the surroundings but also in the gastronomic experiences.
For the chefs, the key is to combine local ingredients with modern culinary art, which requires kitchen technology that is practical, innovative, and sustainable. This was the task given to the Coninvest team, and the end result is a kitchen where design and functionality go hand in hand. We were particularly pleased to be able to work with Árkossy furniture on the design of the breakfast bar and bar counter.
“The client’s clear expectation was that the kitchen should be compact and well-organized, while also representing the most modern technology,” emphasized Gábor Petrusán, project manager at Coninvest.
Three key features that make Hotel Essence’s kitchen and bar special
- GAMKO drink coolers in the bar
The lobby bar is one of the hotel’s highlights: Italian design, elegant curves and details that enhance the guest experience. GAMKO’s special drawer-type beverage coolers not only blend in with the interior, but also make everyday operation easier. Dutch company GAMKO is the only manufacturer of stainless steel beverage cooler cabinets that bends the beverage cooler at an angle based on a CAD drawing so that it fits perfectly with the round shapes envisioned by the designer.
Thanks to the drawer design, bottles are clearly visible and quickly accessible – which is key in the hospitality industry. In addition, the appliances are energy efficient, thus supporting sustainability.
“In the hospitality environment, fast service is of paramount importance, and these appliances make it smooth. Their modern design fits in with the hotel’s elegant interior, while their energy efficiency also supports sustainability. We are particularly proud of the bar counter design, which creates a perfect harmony between design and functionality,” added Gábor Petrusán.

Washing up is always a critical point in a commercial kitchen: it has to be fast, hygienic, and cost-effective. At Hotel Essence, this is ensured by MEIKO’s continuous tunnel dishwasher with basket conveyor.
The system’s advanced heat recovery and water-saving technology not only protects the environment, but also significantly reduces operating costs. This means that the background processes are just as precise and elegant as the guest area itself.

In the cooking area, RATIONAL iVario Pro technology brings a breakthrough.
“This multifunctional device can replace several traditional appliances, such as frying pans, deep fryers, and cooking pots, offering a space-saving solution. Its smart sensors automatically control the cooking processes, reducing the workload for staff and ensuring consistent quality every time,” explained Gábor Petrusán.
